And for some reason the other day I thought about someone that I used to correspond with here and there and had sent her an email and realized that I hadn't heard back from her, which was unusual. I met her at a few of her gigs in Maryland. Very smart, very funny, and very talented. She deserved to be a bigger than than she was.
Sadly, Jill Sobule passed away at age 66 on May 1, 2025. Tragically, in a house fire. Very shocking to learn she died so horribly.
Would be nice if some of her musician friends did a tribute to her.

Been busy getting my garden plots ready to plant--snow peas, garden peas, kale, collards, spinach. I'll plant green beans, tomatoes, bell and hot peppers, okra, etc. after the weather warms up. The photo on the left is the carrots that I dug up a few days ago from the winter garden along with the last of the kale and collards. Love me some good vegies!
But. After being a vegetarian for 12 years, I no longer identify as such. My health was never that great and I lacked energy. After a fortuitous discussion with a doctor from Greece, and his wife who originated from Bulgaria, on our trip to Italy, gave me lots to think about regarding diet and health. I went down a lot of rabbit holes and eventually came to the conclusion that vegetarianism was not for me, health wise. I can see the reasons behind it. But now hubby and I are both mostly carnivore. We chose intermittent fasting, no carbs/sugar, and mostly meat raised ethically. I dropped almost 35 pounds with no effort. My A1C dropped to 5.3. I have the best blood pressure ever, at age 
67. The freaking doctors tried to talk us into statins, and that is a no. Other than age, we have no risk factors. Hubby just spent 2 days in the cardiac unit of the hospital because they thought he had unstable angina. I told them he was severely dehydrated. They wouldn't listen. After 2 days of every cardiac test imaginable, he was found to have a very healthy heart, arteries, etc. Diagnosis: He was dehydrated!

Neither of us are on any prescription meds, other than hubby's Keytruda infusion (for recurrence of melanoma) every 6 weeks. No BP meds, statins, nothing. Doctors are always amazed but they don't want to attribute it to diet--it's genetic, or it's just luck (which will soon run out if you don't take these here statins!!!!). Our family doctor is bordering on obese. Most of his office staff are obese, and one lab nurse in her late 20's was so obese she had to use a rolling chair to get around. I noticed she wasn't there the last few office visits. So no wonder the medical professionals don't want to discuss diet/exercise. Not to mention, a healthy patient doesn't bring in $$$$. I get scolded for not coming in more often but why should I if there's no reason? I do their little Medicare visit around my birthday and that's it unless I have a reason to go in. Ah well.
So. Ukraine. LMAO, it's crazy to see so many Facebook friends supporting Ukraine with words and flags. But they need fighters, ages 18-60. They're snatching men off the streets to fight because not enough of their citizens are volunteering. Britain's Starmer is promising $$$$ and "boots on the ground" to help Ukraine. That translates to "We will send your country our blood and treasure to fight a pointless war." That translates to the tax $$$$ of the citizens, and their young sons. To go and die for what? If people "Support Ukraine," why aren't they going to volunteer in the war? Why aren't they sending their sons and grandsons to die in the pointless war? Why are they not emptying their own bank accounts to support Ukraine? Hypocrites is why. When did all the doves turn into warhawks? Why did all the anti war protestor singers in the 60s/70's grow up to be pro war? Makes all those who made money singing about how bad war is look like the mercenary hypocrites that they are. There was no belief in their own words I guess.
Time to head to the kitchen to do some cookin'. As I was washing the bell peppers earlier (making homemade chicken fajitas that are the BOMB!) I was thinking about Hitler. Not only did he only have one testicle, but he was also a vegetarian!
So...is everyone with one ball a Hitler? Is everyone who is a vegetarian a Hitler? If everyone who raises one arm is a Hitler, maybe so. But didn't Bill Nye the (un) science guy recently do the same gesture???? Deep thoughts on a Tuesday!

Finally got a minute. This fall is rockin' and rollin' right along. This is what's on my mind these days lately. I see the outrage over DOGE and Elon Musk's role, along with Vivek Ramaswamy. Why? The young 'uns seem more for it than--Boomers? Why?! What was the anthem of our day? Power to THE PEOPLE!
Why do people allow political tribalism to take away their common sense? "We have the GAO! We don't need DOGE!!!!" Um, the GAO ain't exactly been doing shit for decades now. Time for some accountability and power to the people. What the Hell is wrong with Dems? They sang that anthem, protested, told us never trust anyone over 30, never trust the government. Now all of a sudden, corruption in the government is okay? Because a government might shake things up to rid corruption might make a Republican president look good? That is beyond stupid, but that's Dems for ya.

And looking at the map of the US will al that red--the current Dem party is only Dem in name.
Haven't had much time to post. The weather has been so mild and no frost yet that I've created 2 more garden plots, each hand-dug and are 11x5 each, in addition to my 20x20 kitchen garden. The kitchen garden has kale, collards, spinach, carrots, and garlic. The garlic will be ready to harvest in July. I picked the last of the zucchini today, it was still going strong but I know frost will happen soon and I want the soil to rest a while until time to plant that section in the spring. The carrots, etc. will grow all winter.
Crazy that the zukes have lasted this long! It's nice to just walk out to the garden and pick just before cooking/eating.
So that's my 2 cents for now. Pooped after a day of diggin' in the dirt!

Despite what the media says, the red is not "low IQ voters." All that red is low IQ, uninformed voters? Really? Only the high IQ folks live in the sparse blue regions???
Ridiculous, right? Not according to social media posts. Only those in the sparse blue regions know everything, know what is best, etc. Such as tariffs. People claim that those in the red regions don't understand what tariffs mean. Hm. In all of that red area, there are no economists? There are no professors of economics, no history professors? No one in red areas knows anything about tariffs?! Really? Do you hear yourselves????
The blue people claim that tariffs will raise prices and Trump supporters will regret voting for him. That's a fascinating insight into their puny brains and how they think. Now, tariffs can raise prices. Doesn't mean they will raise prices. If tariffs are used willy-nilly, with no thought, no plan, could be bad...remember Obama's tires tariffs? Not well implemented. Where was the screaming then??? Selective outrage.
I had problems with my right foot last year. I had some pain but it wasn't too bad. But I was told I needed surgery or it would start hurting and be a bigger problem down the road. So I had it taken care of. There was post operative pain but once it healed, it has been no problem at all. Sometimes, ya gotta undergo a little pain to get to a better outcome. And that's the way it can be with tariffs. We understand that. Trump used them with great effect during his last administration and we had basically no inflation. Go look it up. You don't tariff everything. He used it as a great bargaining tool, bringing billions back into the US economy. The very threat of tariffs kept business here in the US, and kept other countries from raising tariffs on US products. It really is not that complicated but, as the news came out about Trump's newest appointments, the caterwauling began--"Worst choice ever!!!!" "Bad choice!!!" and so on. It's become predictable. Heads exploding constantly over every little thing isn't healthy. It's a sign of significant mental disturbance. Seek help.

So, since Trump announced that Tom Homan will be our new Border Czar, people Dems went batshit. "He's not qualified!" "What does he know about the border?" and so on, all day long. No matter who Trump picks for anything, it's going to be "the worst choice evah!!!!!" Like they're up on policy, etc. If Dems are so damned smart and know what's best--why the Hell ain't you doing it???
The good lookin' guy in the photo is indeed Tom Homan. This photo was taken back in the 1980s when he was a...wait for it... Border Patrol Agent! He's more qualified than anyone. And most certainly more qualified than Carmella or whatever her name was.
He was a Border Patrol agent, investigator, and supervisor before being appointed by President Barack Obama (the Deporter-in-Chief) to Executive Associate Director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement in 2013! Why didn't y'all hate him then?! Dems are so fucking stupid. They can't keep up, can't remember or weren't paying attention during previous administrations. It's pretty hilarious, in a way. In another way, it's pretty sad that the default for Dems is to just hate everything Trump does and repeat the mantra of the day and go along with the outrage du jour without using some critical thinking skills. Thinking is hard for Dems, I know. The heavy lifting of some research and reasoning is too hard. Poor snowflakes.
Too busy to write much tonight but my next topic will likely be tariffs. All of a sudden, social media is awash in tariffs knowledge and some poor misguided souls believe that Trump invented tariffs...guess they don't realize who did institute tariffs, and who did away with them in favor of income taxes. Too tired tonight to go into all that but I will say this--I'm married to a guy with an Economics degree with a minor in history. I know way more about tariffs than I ever wanted to know! Go study the Tariff Act of 1789--also known as the Hamilton Tariff.

Dems are so fucking stupid. They think they're the moral high ground (ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!!!!!!!) and can dictate how Republicans should behave.
The Dems are liars, cheats, hypocrites. Hypocrites especially as they hate Trump for the very things their own side does, and even worse. Get used to it, Dems. We ain't takin' it anymore. Your nose will be rubbed in it.
Oh, almost forgot. Hear about this? I doubt it was on MSDNC or ABCNBCCBSPBS. He's a 25-year-old Democrat who's studying for his Masters in Public Administration, per his Facebook page. He made a Twitter post making fun of an Alabama man who was arrested for threatening a District Attorney, 8 days before his own arrest by the Feds for making a bomb threat to poll workers--and he, himself, was a poll worker. He's now cooling his heels in the clink. A portion of what he's charged with doing is below. Why are Dems so violent and hateful? I'm surprised they haven't burned down more cities yet.

How 'bout that FEMA response to the hurricane victims? What was that Mayorkas said just three months ago? Maybe my ears are bad but I thought he assured us that they were "tremendously prepared"?

Because of Biden's words, too many people out there think that everything's okay. The victims are happy (those who are still alive...) and have everything they need. So what do they do? They mock the videos of victims who are able to get their story out there. They call people like former Democrat Tulsi Gabbard, and others, a "grifter" for trying to raise funds to help the victims.
